All my work evolves from the human form: I try to communicate that which is physical but also that which is beyond the physical.Why?Because it is my view that the body houses the spirit of us, our soul - by extension, for me, the existence of our soul begs the question "what is it all about?" as individuals and en mass. I remain fascinated by this question.The Drawings: The intention is to express our human energy, beauty and complexity.Colour Works from Wallpapers:They are abstracted from the larger than life drawings of the "Wallpaper Series" which skate in and around the human form. Usually in repetition, the Wallpapers form a matrix for the colour and balance of the works to follow. Choice of colour may represent a statement or a question depending where the artist's emotions presently lie.The focus of the work is representing the human form in fluid bold drawings; influenced by her traveling years. In L.A. it was the diversity of art and fusion of colour. In the Philippines, Juliet was inspired by local artists freedom of expression and multi media approach. In Hong Kong Juliet was captivated by the simplicity and purity of Chinese brush work. These influences are also reflected in Juliet's abstract backgrounds to her figures. They represent landscapes of colour: perhaps in conflict, questioning or else cosseting fellings of passive and inner peace.
